The Amilcar Type M ( Amilcar M for short ) was a passenger car of the French brand Amilcar .

description

The vehicle was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1928 . It solved the Amilcar Type L from.

The four-cylinder engine had a 60 mm bore and 110 mm stroke . This resulted in a displacement of 1244 cm³ and a tax classification of 7  Cheval fiscal . The reason for the lower CV value despite the larger displacement than the predecessor is the lower speed. Another source gives 26  hp .

The chassis was taken over unchanged from the predecessor. This results in a wheelbase of 265 cm , a track width of 119 cm , a vehicle length of around 336 cm, a vehicle width of 128 cm and an empty weight of around 800 kg . The three-speed transmission was also adopted.

The superstructures largely corresponded to the previous model. Are known sedan , touring car , convertible and coupe .

The successor Amilcar Type M 2 followed in October 1929 after just twelve months . The serial numbers from 74.001 to 75.174 suggest 1174 vehicles. Elsewhere in the literature, 1174 vehicles are confirmed.

Artcurial auctioned off a preserved four-door sedan with Weymann body from 1929 for 9536 euros in 2018 .
