The Amilcar Type C (short Amilcar C ) was a passenger car of the French brand Amilcar .
description
Amilcar decided in difficult financial times to develop a small car again . Edmond Moyet designed the vehicle, which was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1932 .
The four-cylinder engine had thermosiphon cooling . A 58 mm bore and 80 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 845 cm³ . Amilcar gave 4/5 Cheval fiscal , which was obviously between 4 and 5. The engine developed 19 hp .
The wheelbase was 215 cm. The front track was slightly narrower at 106 cm than the rear with 108 cm. The specified empty weight is 400 kg. There was a choice of convertible sedans and roadsters , and according to a source also a coupe . The front fenders were small and round and only enveloped the respective front wheel.
Production ended in 1933. The successor was initially the Amilcar Type C 3 and then the Amilcar Type C 5 . These three models are sometimes collectively referred to as 5 CV . Between 1932 and 1934, 2,456 vehicles of these three models were built.
