The Amilcar Type M 2 ( Amilcar M 2 for short ) was a car of the French brand Amilcar . There is also the notation Amilcar Type M2 .

The model was already mentioned in an Amilcar catalog in February 1929. It was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1929 . It solved the Amilcar Type M from.
Initially, the vehicle largely corresponded to the previous model. The main difference was the four-speed transmission.
The cars had a four-cylinder engine with a 60 mm bore , 110 mm stroke , 1244 cc displacement and 7 Cheval fiscal tax classification. The engine differed from the previous engine in one small detail.
The chassis remained unchanged. The wheelbase was 265 cm, the track width 119 cm, the vehicle length about 336 cm, the vehicle width 128 cm and the curb weight about 800 kg. Two and four-door sedans have been handed down .
The first version still had the bodies of the predecessor. These were sedans , coupes , convertibles and touring cars . In the second series from October 1930, the facelift led to more modern bodies without running boards and with small front fenders . Illustrations show a four-door sedan and a two-door convertible sedan .
The number of items mentioned is 1401 for the first series (from 75,175 to 76,575) and 1250 for the second series (from 80,001 to 81,250). In total, that's 2651.
The Amilcar Type M 3 followed in October 1931 .
In 2016, Osenat auctioned a four-door sedan from 1929 for 8,760 euros .
