The Amilcar Type CS 8 ( Amilcar CS 8 for short ) was a passenger car of the French brand Amilcar . There is also the notation Amilcar Type CS8 .

Amilcar presented this model together with the serial execution of Amilcar Type C 8 at the Paris Motor Show in October 1929. This followed the Amilcar Type J .

The eight-cylinder in - line engine was unusual for this displacement . It had 66 mm bore , 85 mm stroke , 2326 cm³ displacement and was classified with 13  Cheval fiscal . The engine developed 58  hp .

The wheelbase was 3000 mm and the track width was 1325 mm. The chassis weighed 900 kg and the complete vehicle as a sedan 1380 kg.

Initially, a four-door sedan, a two-seater roadster and a four-seater faux convertible were in the range. The latter was a coupe with a simulated convertible top. A four-seater convertible was added from October 1930 . A picture also shows a two-door sedan.

Production ended in 1933. In total, fewer than 800 vehicles were built from the two eight-cylinder models.

In 1934 the Amilcar Pégase appeared as a successor.
