The Amilcar Type M 3 ( Amilcar M 3 for short ) was a passenger car of the French brand Amilcar . There is also the notation Amilcar Type M3 .

description

Amilcar presented the model in October 1931 as the successor to the Amilcar Type M 2 .

The four-cylinder engine still had a 60 mm bore , 110 mm stroke , 1244 cm³ displacement and 7  Cheval fiscal . Now the engine output was given as 27  hp . Thermosiphon cooling was typical for the time .

The chassis was lower than the previous model. The wheelbase was extended by 25 mm to 2675 mm. The track width was 1210 mm at the front and 1240 mm at the rear. The curb weight was given as around 1000 kg, depending on the body.

The bodies were designed more modern. Are known sedan with two or four doors, Cabriolet , Coupe and Roadster . The cooling air slots in the sides of the bonnet were, at least in most cases, horizontal and no longer vertical. The last models were called Aerodynamic . They were streamlined. The grille was slanted. The front doors were hinged on the B-pillar and did not run straight down at the front. The trunk was integrated into the rear. One illustration shows a sedan with inclined cooling air slots.

The model was discontinued in August 1934. The engines had serial numbers from 85,001 to 87,725, which indicates a maximum of 2725 vehicles. Elsewhere in the literature, exactly 2256 vehicles are given.

It was not until 1937 that Amilcar again offered a vehicle of this class with the Amilcar Compound .

Artcurial auctioned a convertible from 1932 for 15,496 euros in 2018 .
