At the two stones is a 766.2 m above sea level. NHN high mountain of the Idarwald ( Hunsrück ) in the districts of Birkenfeld and Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The wooded mountain is after the Erbeskopf, 15 km southwest ( 816.3 m ; with its northeast spur Sandkopf , 807.3 m and the southwest spur Springenkopf , 784.2 m ) in the Black Forest high forest and before the 12 km southwest (depending on the beeline ) Kahlheid ( 766 m ; also in the Idarwald), the second highest in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Its summit is on the border of Stipshausen in the northeast, Hottenbach in the east-southeast and Hinzerath (zu Morbach ) in the northwest; Hochscheid in the north and Hellertshausen in the southeast also have a share of locations near the peaks .
