Andreas Tobiasson (born December 14, 1983 ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender , who came to a role in the Swedish U-21 selection , played for GAIS in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Tobiasson comes from the youth of Jonsereds IF . There he was discovered by those in charge of GAIS, who signed the young player before the start of the 2004 season. On June 27, 2004 he made his debut in the 3-2 away win against Friska Viljor FC in the Superettan and scored his first professional goal in the 75th minute of the game with the goal to make it 1-1. Under the new coach Roland Nilsson , who took up his first coaching position in men's football at the second division, he was able to fight for a regular place in the defense in the team for players such as the former Swedish national player Hans Blomqvist , Bobbie Friberg Da Cruz or Fredrik Lundgren . In November of that year, Torbjörn Nilsson , the coach of the Swedish U21s, appointed him to the end of the year international match of the junior team. On November 16, 2004 he made his debut against the Scottish U21 team in the national jersey when he was substituted on in the 83rd minute of the game.

Also in his second season at GAIS Tobiasson was able to maintain his place in defense. In the team reinforced by players like Wilton Figueiredo , who scored 15 goals this season, and the one-time national goalkeeper Dime Jankulovski , he made 23 appearances this season. Towards the end of the season, however, he was slowed down by a break and could no longer help in the promotion battle. Ultimately, the team achieved third place in the Superettan and thus qualified for the relegation games to Allsvenskan . After a 2-1 home win and a 0-0 draw in the second leg against Landskrona BoIS , they were promoted to the first division together with AIK and Östers IF .

After his recovery Tobiasson had to make do with a place on the bench and came in the 2: 5 defeat by Hammarby IF on May 10, 2006 as a substitute for Lundgren to his first division debut. Towards the end of the season he was able to oust Mattias Östberg from the back four and left a strong impression in his first first division game in the starting XI, a 1-1 draw against Halmstads BK on September 20, 2006. He then formed the central defense of GAIS together with Richard Ekunde . In the 2007 season he had finally established himself and played all 26 games of the season.

Even under the new coach Magnus Pehrsson , who initially put Björn Andersson and later Bobbie Friberg Da Cruz at his side, Tobiasson was part of the regular team in front of goalkeeper Jankulovski in the 2008 season . In August he briefly lost his regular place to Ekunde, but towards the end of the month he was back in the starting line-up. After he ran up irregularly in the following year under the new coach Alexander Axén , he moved to second division Vasalunds IF on loan in July 2009 . There he came to only two games due to injury and missed relegation with the team from Solna at the end of the second division season 2009 as bottom of the table.

In February 2010 Tobiasson moved to the second division club Ljungskile SK , who also hired his father Ove Tobiasson as a goalkeeping coach. After he was completely out of the championship due to injury in his first year at the club, he made two short appearances as a substitute in the 2011 second division season . The contractual agreement was therefore canceled in the summer of that year.

After Tobiasson had already worked for Intersport in the sporting goods trade for a while, he took over a job at the Swedish subsidiary of the Norwegian sporting goods manufacturer XXL Sport & Villmark in the logistics area after retiring .
