Andrei Wladimirowitsch Ptscheljakow ( Kazakh Андрей Владимирович Пчеляков ; born February 19, 1972 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player .

Career

Andrei Ptscheljakow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the highest Soviet division, in the 1991/92 season . He then played for three years with the team in their follow-up competition, the International Hockey League . For the 1996/97 season , the winger moved to HK Awangard Omsk from the Russian Super League . He then spent five years with his league rivals Severstal Tscherepowez . He also started the 2002/03 season at Severstal, but after only two games he moved to Metallurg Novokuznetsk , where he ended the season. The following season he began with SKA Saint Petersburg and finished it with his ex-club Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

From 2004 to 2006 Ptscheljakow played for one year each for HK MWD Tver and Krylya Sowetow Moscow in the Vysschaya League, the second Russian division. With the latter he achieved promotion to the super league. In the 2006/07 season he played 22 games for Krylya Sovetov and then Amur Khabarovsk in the Super League . The 2007/08 season spent the Kazakh again with Krylya Sovetov, which could not avoid the direct relegation to the Vysschaya League. From 2008 to 2010 he played for HK Homel in the Belarusian extra league . Most recently, he spent the 2010/11 season with the Extraliga participants Schinnik Babrujsk and Metallurg Schlobin . He then ended his career at the age of 39.

International

For Kazakhstan Ptscheljakow took part in the C World Championships in 1993 , 1994 and 1995 and the B World Championships in 1997 and 1999 . In addition, he was in the squad of his country at the A World Championships in 2005 and 2006 and at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and 2006 in Turin .
