Andrew Harris was successful on the ITF Junior Tour. After his first Grand Slam tournament participation in 2011 at the Australian Open thanks to a wildcard , he was able to achieve his best result in singles with the round of 16 a year later . In doubles he was even in the semi-finals with Nick Kyrgios . In Paris and Wimbledon he won doubles with Kyrgios. At the beginning of 2012, he had reached his highest place in the junior ranking with 6th place.
Even during his studies he played professional tournaments. In 2013 he won his first future title in singles and made it into a semi-final at the Challenger in Happy Valley for the first time at this level. On the way there he won with Andrei Kuznetsov for the first time against a top 100 player. During this time he was able to stay in the top 700 of the world rankings .
With his second futures title at the end of 2017, Harris was able to end the year in the top 500 for the first time and played more often on the Challenger Tour in 2018. In Launceston he reached the semifinals again. A year later in Chennai , the Australian moved into the first Challenger final. There he was defeated by the Frenchman Corentin Moutet in two sentences. Due to further strong results - the semifinals in Yokohama , his second final in Busan (defeat against Ričardas Berankis ) - he was in the world rankings in 221 and was thus able to participate in the qualification of Wimbledon . There he lost again to Moutet in the last lap. He could not qualify at the US Open either. Shortly before the end of the year, Harris reached his third final of the year in Traralgon against Marc Polmans . Shortly before, he had won his first doubles title alongside Polmans in Ningbo . With 160th place he is currently at his career high in singles.
