Anna Tatangelo (born January 9, 1987 in Sora , Frosinone Province ) is an Italian pop singer . She made her debut in 2002 and is best known for her numerous participations in the Sanremo Festival . In addition to her musical career, she also occasionally works as a television presenter .

Career

Anna Tatangelo began her career as a singer at the age of 15: With the song Doppiamente fragili she won the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival in 2002 . Her duet with Gigi D'Alessio in the song Un nuovo bacio was a great success in the same year . She returned to the festival in 2003 , but was unsuccessful in the main category with Volere volare (duet with Federico Stragà ). Tatangelo then released the debut album Attimo x attimo . At the Sanremo Festival 2005 she entered the race for the first time with a song by Gigi D'Alessio, Ragazza di periferia . With this she reached third place in the women's category. The song was also eponymous for their second album.

D'Alessio became Tatangelo's producer and eventually her partner, which filled the gossip pages across Italy . In 2006 the singer made it to Sanremo in the women's category in first place and in the overall ranking in third place; the song Essere una donna was written by D'Alessio with Mogol . The following year she released the next album Mai dire mai . With Il mio amico she returned in 2008 again to Sanremo back and ended up in second place. After a new edition of Mai dire mai , the concept album Nel mondo delle donne followed at the end of the year .

In 2010 Tatangelo and D'Alessio's first son was born. In the same year, the singer acted as a juror in the fourth season of the talent show X Factor . At the Sanremo Festival 2011 she presented Bastardo without much success . The song found its way into the following album Progetto B , for which she also worked with Renato Zero and Mario Biondi . Between 2013 and 2014 she published the singles Occhio per occhio , Senza dire che and Muchacha , only under her first name . She also began to work with songwriter Francesco Silvestre ( Modà ). Silvestre also wrote the song Libera , with which the singer entered the 2015 Sanremo Festival without making it to the final. The album of the same name was then released.

In 2016 Tatangelo starred in the film Un Natale al Sud and also recorded the song Natale italiano for the soundtrack . In 2018 she won the second season of the cooking show Celebrity MasterChef Italia . Shortly thereafter, she released the single Chiedere scusa . In November, a new version of her song from 2005, Ragazza di periferia 2.0 , was released in collaboration with the rapper Achille Lauro . At the Sanremo Festival 2019 , the singer landed with Le nostre anime di notte in 22nd place.
