Annette Hopfenmüller (born October 2, 1959 in Coburg ) is a German filmmaker and music producer .

Career

Hopfenmüller initially worked as an interpreter (English, French, Spanish) in the profession she had learned. At the end of the 1970s she was a founding member of the “Revue Cabaret Blackout” with Sol de Sully and Walter Zauner, which conveyed satirical content in show numbers. Uli Bauer was an ensemble colleague . In the 1980s Annette Hopfenmüller worked as a musician (bass) in the band of spliff drummer Herwig Mitteregger and in a trio with the brothers Ernst Ströer and Hans Peter Ströer (tour with the United Jazz + Rock Ensemble ). In 1987 her record Behind The Dunes appeared with her own compositions and texts.

In 1984 she took over the moderation and programming of radio programs for Süddeutscher Rundfunk and Radio Bayern 3 (including Pop nach Acht and Seven o'Pop). In 1986 Annette Hopfenmüller designed the TV show Hard'n Heavy, which she produced and hosted for the then music broadcaster Tele 5 until the end of 1990 .

Since 1991 she has worked as a director and writer of documentaries. She first made cultural contributions for public television, including a. for aspects culture magazine on ZDF and directed commercials and image films. Annette Hopfenmüller has been making documentary films and series in the fields of music, theater, German entertainment history and Bavaria since 1996 (e.g. for the BR series Unter Unser Himmel ).

In 2011 Annette Hopfenmüller was awarded the Upper Franconian Media Prize for her film Company Fairy Tale Castle. In October 2014 she was awarded the culture prize of the Upper Franconian Foundation.

In March 2014, Annette Hopfenmüller, in collaboration with the actor Thomas Birnstiel, brought the award-winning BR television series “Löwengrube” by Willy Purucker to the stage as a staged reading with music. The premiere took place at the Regensburg Theater.

Hopfenmüller lives and works in Munich .
