Antônio Lino da Silva Dinis , also Dom Antônio Lino , (born February 22, 1943 in Vila Nova de Famalicão , Braga District , Portugal ; † December 1, 2013 in Goiânia , Goiás , Brazil ) was a Portuguese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Itumbiara .

Life

Antônio da Silva Lino Dinis received in the August 15, 1966 Braga the sacrament of Holy Orders . He came to Brazil in 1967 and was pastor of the Cathedral of Santo Antônio of Sete Lagoas . After completing a postgraduate course in priestly spirituality in Rome, he was spiritual at the St. Pius X seminary in Sete Lagoas. From 1988 to 1991 he was pastor in his home diocese of Braga in Portugal. In 1991 he returned to Sete Lagoas and built up the parish of St. Peter and founded the educational center Santa Casa de Nossa Senhora das Graças . In 1994 he became rector of the seminary of St. Pius X.

On February 24, 1999, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Itumbiara. The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Alfio Rapisarda , donated him episcopal ordination on May 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Sete Lagoas, José de Lima , and the Archbishop of Braga, Jorge Ferreira da Costa Ortiga . His motto was In Christ Omnibus (Col. 3:11).

He died of a heart attack.
