Antje v. Dewitz (2015)

Antje von Dewitz (born September 18, 1972 in Ebingen (today Albstadt )) is a German entrepreneur . She is the managing director of the mountain sports outfitter Vaude in Tettnang .

Youth and family

Antje v. Dewitz grew up in Untereisenbach near Tettnang. She is the middle of the three daughters of Albrecht v. Dewitz , who founded the family company Vaude in 1974 . The family forms a branch of the originally Mecklenburg-Pomeranian noble family of the von Dewitz family .
At the age of seventeen, Antje v. Dewitz spent a school year in the city of Chattanooga in the US state of Tennessee .

Antje v. Dewitz lives with her partner and their four children in Tettnang.

Studies and professional activity

Von Dewitz studied economics and culture at the University of Passau . In 1998 she completed her studies with a diploma. Von Dewitz actually wanted to work in the field of environmental protection and had initially not planned to join her father's company. When she first worked at Vaude in 1998, she built up the “Bags and Luggage” division. From 2000 to 2002 she was responsible for public relations , in 2005 she took over the entire marketing management. In the period from 2002 to 2005, she was also a part-time research assistant at the University of Hohenheim , where she wrote a dissertation entitled “The creation of a high-performance employment relationship through Talent Relationship Management”. In 2005 she became Dr. oec. PhD. In 2009 Albrecht v. Dewitz her management.

Since then, von Dewitz has gradually been aligning more and more company processes to criteria of sustainability and environmental compatibility. If possible, this should also happen along the entire value chain, i.e. H. also in the logistics of the products and with suppliers abroad.

Economic policy positions

CO 2 tax

Von Dewitz sees the introduction of a CO2 tax as positive. She regards this as an "innovation engine for the economy".

Common good economy

Von Dewitz advocates that the guidelines of the economy for the common good be observed more closely and criticizes the fact that in the economy too much attention is paid to financial indicators. Together with Christian Felber , she managed to get the European Economic and Social Committee to speak out in favor of the common good economy model in 2015 and to advocate that this should be "integrated into both the European and national legal frameworks".

Initiative for the right to stay for refugees and the immigration law

At the beginning of 2018, Antje v. Dewitz, together with the brewing entrepreneur Gottfried Härle, launched the right to stay initiative for refugees with a permanent job or apprenticeship, which 80 companies and three associations from Baden-Württemberg have joined in a short time. The entrepreneurial initiative demands a right of residence for rejected asylum seekers , provided they can provide evidence of a job or training position. On April 19, the initiative was received by the Interior Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Thomas Strobl . Antje v. Dewitz for the rapid introduction of an immigration law , since Vaude had to struggle with a labor shortage in certain areas that could be covered by recruiting foreign workers.
