Anton Brenek
Anton Brenek (born October 23, 1848 in Brno ( Moravia ), † November 18, 1908 in Baden near Vienna ) was an old Austrian sculptor .
Life
Anton Brenek's father was a sculptor himself, so he worked in his father's studio at a young age . From 1872 Anton received his training at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Otto König , two years later he entered the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts , where he graduated from the master school for higher sculpture under Caspar von Zumbusch . Brenek worked with him on his main works, the Beethoven monument and the Maria Theresa monument in Vienna. Not least because of these achievements, Anton Brenek was appointed kk - professor of modeling and drawing at the state trade school in Reichenberg . Brenek taught at this school until 1881, then he was called to Vienna to teach at the state trade school there. In 1905 he retired, but continued to devote himself to his art well into old age.
