Anton Ernst Gottfried Eberhard von Schubaert (born November 10, 1744 in Appenrode , † September 13, 1829 at Schönkirch Palace in Obermain district ) was a Prussian major general and heir on Mayenberg.

Life

origin

His parents were Georg Wilhelm von Schubaert (1718–1782) and his wife Clara Henrica Sophie, née Kirchhoff.

Military career

Schubaert came on April 1, 1760 as a standard squire in the cuirassier regiment "von Vasold" of the Prussian army . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the siege of Schweidnitz and the battle of Reichenbach . At that time he became a cornet on May 21, 1761 .

After the war, Schubaert was promoted to lieutenant on December 1, 1764 and as such took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1788/79 . On June 19, 1780 he rose to the rank of staff cavalry officer and on July 21, 1784 he became a captain and company commander . In 1787 Schubaert took part in the campaign in Holland . On March 4, 1790 he became major and fought during the First Coalition War in the cannonade of Valmy and the battles at Meckenheim, Weißenburg, Stromberg, Edinghofen and the sieges of Mainz, Königstein and Landau. For Landau he received the order Pour le Mérite .

On July 3, 1798 Schubaert was appointed lieutenant colonel and on July 9, 1799 regimental commander. On May 20, 1800 he became a colonel and fought in the Fourth Coalition War in 1806 in the Battle of Auerstedt and the battles near Nordhausen, Prenzlau and Pasewalk. On January 21, 1807, Schubaert received his departure as major general. On May 20, 1810, he was informed that no pension could be paid for the time being. On April 10, 1812, he received 50 thalers in support. After the Wars of Liberation , his pension was increased to 100 thalers on October 19, 1816. He died on September 13, 1829 at Schönkirch Castle in Obermain-Kreis, Bavaria.

Schubaert married Wilhelmine Friederike Ernestine Karoline Freiin von Künsberg (born December 31, 1756 - September 20, 1834) from the house of Ermreuth in Bayreuth on September 16, 1777 . The couple had several children:
