Argenta is a city with 21,365 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ferrara in northeastern Italy. Argenta is located in the Emilia-Romagna region about 30 km southeast of Ferrara and halfway between Ferrara and Ravenna .

The city is located in a predominantly flat, agricultural region on the edge of a wetland, the Comacchio lagoon . Much of this lagoon is now a nature reserve.
