Ariguani is a municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Magdalena in Colombia . The main town (cabecera municipal) of Ariguaní is El Difícil .

Ariguaní is located in the Departamento del Magdalena at an altitude of 200  m above sea level. NN and has an average temperature of 28 ° C. The municipality borders in the north on Sabanas de San Ángel , in the south on Santa Ana , in the east on Bosconia and El Paso ( Departamento del Cesar ) and in the west on Nueva Granada .

Ariguaní is divided into the cabecera municipal (El Difícil), four corregimientos (Alejandría, El Carmen de Ariguaní, Pueblo Nuevo, San José de Ariguaní and Vadelco) and 29 veredas (smaller rural administrative subunits ).

history

El Difícil was founded in 1901 by people who fled acts of war in the War of the Thousand Days . El Dificíl became a corregimiento in 1912 . The place was partially destroyed by fire in 1950. A parish has been located in the village since 1962. Ariguaní has ​​existed as a community since 1967.

Infrastructure

An asphalt trunk road runs through the municipality that connects Ariguaní with Bosconia and Plato . This road goes through El Difícil and the corregimientos Pueblo Nuevo and San José de Ariguaní .
