The Asheville Regional Airport ( IATA : AVL , ICAO : KAVL ) is a regional airport in the state of the United States North Carolina and is located in Fletcher, 18 kilometers south of Asheville . It is located on Interstate 26 and US Highway 74 at an altitude of 660 m above sea level . The airport is operated by the city of Asheville. In 2019, 1,616,762 passengers were handled here.
