Aspen Music Festival and School
The Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) has been an annual international classical music festival in Aspen , Colorado since 1949 .
In addition to the design of special concert programs by top international musicians, the foundation of the festival is the promotion of young musicians through music courses and workshops. The Aspen Music Festival and School offers 12 training programs for young musicians: from orchestral programs to opera coaching to classical guitar.
The main season lasts about 8 weeks and takes place every summer. But there are also some events in the winter season. In addition to the classical program, there are also isolated jazz events . The organization of the festival is currently headed by President and CEO Alan Fletcher and Music Director Robert Spano.
