Atanas Kolev ( Bulgarian Атанас Иванов Колев , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Atanas Kolev ; born July 15, 1967 in Botevgrad ) is a Bulgarian chess player .
He won the Bulgarian individual championship in 1992 in Bankja . He played for Bulgaria at four Chess Olympiads : 1992 , 1994 , 1998 and 2000 . He also took part in the European team championships in León in 2001 and in two chess Balkaniads (1993 and 1994).
In Spain he played for the CA Alzira-Hilaturas Presencia .
In 1988 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM), and in 1993 the title of Grand Master (GM).
