Petar Drentschew ( Bulgarian Петър Николов Дренчев , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Petar Drenchev ; born April 25, 1977 in Kazanlak ) is a Bulgarian chess player .

He graduated from the National Sports Academy of Bulgaria as a chess coach. He won the title of International Master in 2007, he fulfilled the necessary standards in 2002 at the Memorial Jordan Grigorov , in the 2005/06 season of the 2. Bundesliga West and at the Bulgarian individual championship in 2007 in Pernik . In February 2011 he was awarded the title of Grand Master by FIDE , he fulfilled the required standards in the Turkish Team Championship 2008/09, in June 2010 at the Albena Chess Festival and in November 2010 at the XXIII Belgrade Trophy . In January 2015 he is 13th in the Bulgarian Elo ranking. In Belgium, Drentschew played at KSK 47 Eynatten and became Belgian team champion in 2010 and 2011 . In Germany, Drentschew played with Turm Bergheim and DJK Aufwärts St. Josef Aachen .
