Nikola Spiridonov
Nikola Spiridonov ( Bulgarian Никола Йовински Спиридонов , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Nikola Spiridonov ; born February 28, 1938 in Pleven ) is a Bulgarian chess player .
He won the Bulgarian individual championship in 1969 in Plovdiv . He played for Bulgaria at the 1964 Chess Olympiad in Tel Aviv . He also took part in the European team championships three times (1970, 1980 and 1983).
In France he played for the Paris Chess Club .
In 1970 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM) and in 1979 the title of Grand Master (GM). His highest rating was 2490 in January 1976.
