Aud Inger Aure

Aud Inger Aure (born November 12, 1942 in Averøy ) is a Norwegian politician of the Christian Democratic Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF). From 1997 to 1999 she was the Minister of Justice in her country.

Political career

Aure was Kristiansund City Councilor from 1979 to 1983 . From 1995 to 1997 she was mayor of the city. In the meantime she was a member of the Fylkesting of Møre og Romsdal from 1983 to 1995 .

Aure was never directly elected to the Norwegian parliament, the Storting . From October 1989 to November 1990, however, she was still a member of parliament, as she represented the then Foreign Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik as a so-called Vararist representative in parliament.

On October 17, 1997, she was appointed Minister in the Ministry of Justice and Police. She held her office until March 15, 1999.
