Odd Einar Dørum (born October 12, 1943 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian liberal politician ( Venstre ).

Life

Dørum is the son of Odd Werge Dørum and the German Edith Donner.

Between 1967 and 1971 and again from 1976 to 1979 he was a member of the Trondheim City Council . From 1970 to 1972 he was chairman of the youth organization of the Liberals ( Unge Venstre ). From 1982 to 1986 and again from 1992 to 1996 he was party chairman.

From 1977 to 1981 Dørum belonged to the Norwegian parliament Storting , where he represented the former province of Sør-Trøndelag . From 1995 to 1997 and again in the legislative period from 2011 to 2015, he was City Councilor of Oslo . Between 1997 and 2009 he was again a member of parliament, but now for the Oslo constituency.

On October 17, 1997, he was appointed Minister of Transport in the Bondevik I government. On March 15, 1999 he moved to the Ministry of Justice and Police as Minister and he held this post until the end of the government on March 17, 2000. In the Bondevik II government , he was again Minister of Justice on October 19, 2001, which he did until October 17, 2005 stayed.
