Phillipp August Biebricher (born June 4, 1878 in Bleialf , † June 26, 1932 in Krefeld ) was a German architect .

August Biebricher received his professional training at the building trade school in Gießen and at the Technical University of Darmstadt . His first professional positions also included a job in the office of the architect Ludwig Hofmann in Herborn , on whose behalf he came to Krefeld in 1900/1901 as a construction manager for the Pauluskirche, which was built according to Hofmann's design . In 1905 Biebricher worked in Peter Behrens' office in Düsseldorf, but was soon given a teaching position for architecture and spatial art at the Krefeld School of Crafts and Applied Arts, founded in 1904 (later Werkkunstschule Krefeld ). In 1906 this teaching position was converted into a permanent position.

In 1908 he married Anna Scheibler (born December 15, 1883), who came from a local, respected Mennonite factory owner family; This marriage had two daughters, Sophie Charlotte (born May 26, 1909) and Frieda Margarete (born September 21, 1914).

By the time of his marriage at the latest, Biebricher was integrated into Krefeld's bourgeois society, and prestigious residential buildings and villas for wealthy clients in Krefeld and the surrounding area took up a large part of his work. My circle of friends included z. B. also the Krefeld councilor Dr.-Ing. Hubert Hentrich. His son Helmut Hentrich (1905–2001) and Heinrich Bartmann (1898–1982) made their first practical experience of the architectural profession in Biebricher's office.

Biebricher was appointed to the German Werkbund (DWB) founded in 1907, probably very early on . In 1919 he was appointed to the Association of German Architects (BDA), in whose committees he later held various offices. In 1921 he was awarded the title of professor by the Prussian Minister of Commerce for his work as a teacher (see titular professor ). From 1924 to 1929 Biebricher was a city councilor in Krefeld for the conservative German National People's Party .

August Biebricher died around three weeks after his 54th birthday of complications after an operation.
