August Friedrich Prinzinger the Elder Ä. (* October 16, 1811 in Ottobeuren ; † January 14, 1899 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian lawyer and member of the Salzburg state parliament. August Prinzinger the Elder Ä. was the father of August Prinzinger the Younger

Life

August Prinzinger was the son of Joseph Prinzinger and his wife Johanna (born von Huber).

He attended grammar school in Salzburg from 1817 and studied law and philology in Vienna from 1830 to 1835 . Afterwards he was a legal intern at the Salzburg City and Regional Court from 1836 and from 1837 to 1839 a trainee and lawyer in Salzburg. In 1839 he received his doctorate in Innsbruck . He then worked at the Fiscal Office in Salzburg until 1841 , and from 1841 chamber procurator in Linz. From 1846 he was a lawyer in St. Pölten . In 1848 he was an auditor for the National Guard here .

From December 16, 1848 to March 31, 1849, he succeeded Franz Gutherz (1802–1865) as a member of the Paulskirche parliament in Frankfurt. His constituency was Austria under the Enns (1st, St. Pölten) . He joined the Württemberger Hof parliamentary group . His successor after the withdrawal of the Austrian MPs was Guido Konrad Mosing .

From 1849 until his retirement in 1880 he worked as a lawyer in Salzburg, from 1870 he was chairman of the bar. Here he was also a councilor from 1858 to 1862. In 1867/68 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

From 1874 to 1884 he was chairman of the Society for Salzburg Regional Studies , which he co-founded in 1858. In 1884 he became an honorary member. He published several writings on regional studies.

Prinzinger was married twice. His first wife Louise (nee von Tarnoczy) died in 1847. His second wife was named Josephine, nee. Loe.
