Bózsva is a Hungarian community in the county Sátoraljaújhely in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén . The northeastern district of Kisbózsva belongs to the municipality .
Geographical location
Bózsva is located in northern Hungary , about 65 kilometers northeast of the Miskolc county seat . Neighboring communities are Nyíri four kilometers away and Kishuta six kilometers away. The closest cities are Pálháza , which is three kilometers to the east and Sátoraljaújhely a good 16 kilometers to the southeast.
history
Bózsva is a foundation from the time of the Árpáden . The place was first mentioned in 1264 with the name Borsua . Two independent settlements emerged: Kisbózsva (German: Klein-Bózsva) belonged to Abaújvár Castle , disappeared during the Turkish occupation and was settled again in the 18th century. Nagybózsva (Greater Bózsva) was a royal domain until the 15th century . During the Turkish era and the Rákóczi freedom struggle , the place was deserted and was repopulated in the 18th century. At the 1910 census, Kisbózsvá had 138 Hungarians out of 139 inhabitants and 245 Hungarians in Nagybózsvá had 247 inhabitants. Until 1945 Bózsva belonged to Abaúj-Torna County .
