Vilyvitány is a Hungarian community in the county Sátoraljaújhely in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén .

Geographical location

Vilyvitány is located in northern Hungary , 92 kilometers northeast of the Miskolc county seat , one kilometer from the Slovakian border. Neighboring communities are Felsőregmec , Füzérradvány and Mikóháza .

history

Vilyvitány was created in 1940 when the towns of Vily and Vitány merged . In Víly the majority of the people were Reformed and in Vitány they were Catholic .
