Eutelsat 4B was a television satellite of Eutelsat , based in Paris .
The satellite belonged to Eutelsat , but was fully leased to ARABSAT in 2002. Previously it was called Hot Bird 5 and was stationed at 13 ° East. It was later moved to 33 ° East and renamed Eurobird 2 . In spring 2003 the satellite was finally moved to 26 ° East and was named Arabsat 2D until it was renamed BADR-2 . A few years later it was bought back by Eutelsat, moved to 25 ° East and was named Eutelsat 25A . Later it was renamed Eutelsat 4B and got its new position 59 ° East.
Due to a defect in the solar cells, the satellite lost around 10% of its power in July 1999. He owned 3 Skyplex units.
In February 2013 it was taken out of service.

Eutelsat 4B could be received in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Russia. The transmission took place in the Ku band .
