Baak is a district and a district of the city of Hattingen in the Ennepe-Ruhr district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1926, Baak was an independent municipality in the Hattingen district of the Prussian province of Westphalia . Today it is part of the Winz-Baak district .

Baak is bounded in the north by the Hattingen city limits to Bochum and in the south by the Ruhr . Rauendahl , which belongs to the Baak district and was also part of the former municipality of Baak, is connected to the east . history

The Baak, located on the Ruhr, was originally an old Westphalian peasantry in the Blankenstein district of the county of Mark .
