Baden-Baden Award Event and Media
The Baden-Baden Event and Media Award is a young talent award for graduates from dual training professions in the theater , film , television and event industries . It is presented annually by the Baden-Baden Award gGmbH. The first award ceremony took place in 2009.
background
The Baden-Baden Award was developed in order to “not [honor] the people of the media and event industry on stage, but those who work behind the stage .” This is to express that the success of a production is not only achieved by the Depends on singers or actors, but z. B. also from an appealing, well-lit stage design and a smooth technical process. In professional circles is therefore also hawked : "If it rattles and creaks if the actors stand in the dark, the greatest talent of the artist is of no use." The event is supported by the Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft , Südwestrundfunk and Theater Baden-Baden . At the premiere in 2009, the Mayor of Baden-Baden , Wolfgang Gerstner, gave the opening speech in the presence of Doris Schmidts ( Miss Germany 2009). In 2010 the actress Ursula Cantieni was won over for the event.
In 2011, the event was under the motto Stars behind the ring and was documented by four SWR trainees in a 30-minute television broadcast. The broadcast of the report took place on December 13, 2011 on EinsPlus. As in previous years, comedian and SWR3 comedy director Andreas Müller took over the moderation . The State Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Silke Krebs, praised the event as "a very good opportunity to point out our high-performance dual training system in Germany". The supporting program was designed by artists from the State Ballet School Berlin .

The winners will receive a five-color at a ceremony foals from ceramic , which by the majolica factory Karlsruhe is made for the occasion. The five colors are intended to symbolize the five training professions whose graduates will be honored at the award ceremony.
Venue
The prize will be awarded on the premises of EurAKA. The Academy, together with the Karlsruhe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is also the organizer.
Categories
The prize is awarded to trainees in the following professions:
- Stage painter and stage sculptor
- Specialist for event technology
- Makeup artist
- Media designer for picture and sound
- Event clerk
- Prop master .
All trainees of the respective training year are eligible to participate. All participants in the final exams in winter 2017/2018 and summer 2018 can take part in the Baden-Baden Award 2018 . Depending on your profession, you have to submit a project work, photos of the work or data carriers or concepts of your thesis. In each category, three winners will be awarded by a jury made up of well-known experts from the industry; so held z. B. in 2009 the German make-up artist Hasso von Hugo gave the laudatory speech. The young people's theses were also presented at the international Showtech trade fair in Berlin in 2010 .
Honor prizes and special prizes
An honorary award was presented for the first time in 2010. Claus Millot from the event management of the IHK Karlsruhe, who co-founded the event, received a film role of your choice in the “ Tatort ” or the “ Fallers ”. The trainee media designer for image and sound Jan Jungbluth received a special prize for his examination piece, an animated film. He traveled to New York City for a week with a companion .
