Badminton Bundesliga 1984/85

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The badminton Bundesliga season 1984/1985 ended with the title win by TV-Mainz-Zahlbach, who was already the champion after 11 of 14 match days. Much more exciting was the relegation battle, where the Berlin LZ was able to intercept STC Blau-Weiß Solingen on the penultimate matchday with a 5-3 win against LZ Saar / TuS Wiebelskirchen. At the end of the day, the Solingen players with the same number of points lost 7-1 at home against Mainz. On the last day of the match, a draw was no longer enough for the STC to push Berlin out of relegation rank. In the following relegation, however, the Berliners were only third behind Fortuna Regensburg and TTC Brauweiler, so they had to accompany Solingen on the way to the 2nd division.
