Badminton Bundesliga 2011/12

The 2011/2012 Badminton Bundesliga season was the 41st season of the Badminton Bundesliga . It started with ten teams, but VfL 93 Hamburg withdrew the team on February 28th. With the 1st place in the table, the 1st BC Bischmisheim was automatically qualified for the play-off final. The semifinals took place between the 1st BC Beuel and the SG EBT Berlin. SG EBT Berlin became champion with victories in the semi-finals and finals. In addition to VfL 93 Hamburg, SG Anspach had to relegate as penultimate in the table. The champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North and South rose. 1. BC Düren (2nd Bundesliga North) and SV Fischbach (2nd Bundesliga South) were promoted.

Main round

In the main round, which was divided into a round trip, all teams met twice on the basis of a game plan set before the season; once in your own hall and once in the opponent's hall. The winner of each game received two points; in the event of a tie, both teams received one point each.

Playoff round

Following the main round, the German champions were determined in a play-off round, with the second against the third of the main round in the semifinals. The winner then played against the first of the main round in the final. The team that was placed higher in the table had home rights.

Play-off

The play-off semifinals took place on May 6, 2012 in the Erwin-Kranzhalle in Beuel. Here SG EBT Berlin won 4-2 against Beuel. The final took place a week later with the game 1. BC Bischmisheim against SG EBT Berlin in the Joachim-Deckarm-Halle. In this final, SG EBT Berlin won the second championship title in a row with a 5-1 victory.
