The 1998/1999 Bundesliga badminton season consisted of a preliminary round in "everyone against everyone" with a return game and a subsequent play-off round. In the play-off round, the 1st and 4th as well as the 2nd and 3rd competed against each other in a return match. The winners of the two games determined the German champions, also in a return leg. The champions were the BC Eintracht Südring Berlin . The Bottrop BG (for economic and personnel reasons) and the SG Anspach had to get down.
