The 2018/2019 Badminton Bundesliga season was the 48th season of the Badminton Bundesliga . Ten teams were at the start. The first two teams in the league qualify directly for the Final Four. Places 3 to 6 play off the two remaining places to the Final Four in a play-off. The bottom of the table is relegated directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. The table ninth plays together with the two promoted players from the 2nd Bundesliga North and South for the remaining in the 1st Bundesliga.
After completing the regular round of points, the championship was played over the Final Four. The first two of the main round qualified directly for the Final Four. Places 3 to 6 played the two remaining places for the Final Four in a play-off quarter-finals. The third placed competed against the sixth placed and the fourth placed played against the fifth placed in the main round.

Final Four
At the Final Four event on April 13 and 14, 2019 in the Jakob-Frantzen-Halle in Willich, the two best-placed teams in the main round met the two winners of the quarter-final play-offs. In the semi-finals, the main round winner played against the lower-ranking play-off winner. The runner-up in the main round met the higher-ranking play-off winner. The reigning champion 1. BC Bischmisheim was able to defend the title in the final with a 4-2 win against TV Refrath.

Promotion round to the 1st Bundesliga
The promotion round to the 1st Bundesliga took place this year like the Final Four on April 13 and 14, 2019. The game was played in the sports hall of TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg in Munich . In addition to the bottom of the table of the 1st Bundesliga Blau-Weiss Wittorf Neumünster, the champions of the 2nd Bundesliga South TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg and the table third of the 2nd Bundesliga South SG Schorndorf took part. The champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North ( BC Hohenlimburg ) decided not to participate. With two wins, Blau-Weiss Wittorf Neumünster was able to secure a place in the 1st Bundesliga. TSV Neuhausen-Nymphenburg was the newcomer, while SG Schorndorf had to stay in the 2nd Bundesliga.
