The Lauchringen station (ex. Oberlauchringen ) is a small regional railroad on the edge of the southern Black Forest on which the high Rheinbahn of Basel about Waldshut , Schaffhausen and Singen (Hohentwiel) according Konstanz the Wutachtalbahn of Lauchringen according Immendingen applies.

location

The train station is far away from residential areas and from the center of Lauchringen. It is located on the northern edge of Oberlauchringen. The address of the train station is Bahnhofstraße 12 .

history

Along the Upper Rhine, the Upper Rhine Railway , built by the Baden State Railway , runs as the main line from Basel (Badischer Bahnhof) to Schaffhausen and on via Singen (Hohentwiel) to Konstanz . This reached Waldshut in 1856 and Schaffhausen in 1863. The Lauchringen train station is located between Waldshut and Schaffhausen and was called Oberlauchringen in the first few years of operation .

Since this important line runs through the national territory of Switzerland , the Wutach Valley Railway, opened in 1875/76 from Lauchringen via Stühlingen to Weizen , was extended in 1890 with elaborate engineering structures as a strategic railway via Zollhaus - Blumberg into the Danube Valley .

In 1955 the 9 km long section Lausheim - Blumegg - Grimmelshofen (-Zollhaus-Blumberg) was closed for regular passenger traffic . In 1971 the wheat-Lausheim-Blumegg section of the route, which was only 3 km long, followed.

As a result of the rail reform and the associated regionalization of local rail transport, considerations arose in the mid-1990s to reactivate at least parts of the Wutach Valley Railway for regular operation. A study carried out in 1998 recommended reactivating the southern section from Weizen to Lauchringen and connecting it via the Hochrheinbahn to Basel Badischer Bahnhof without changing trains . Due to the cost forecast, the reactivation of the southern Wutach Valley Railway section was initially not pursued.

2003 was then - but only on the weekends - the passenger reactivated between Lauchringen and wheat. These services, known as the wheat pendulum - two pairs of trains on Sundays and public holidays - are provided by Deutsche Bahn AG and serve as feeder traffic to the museum railway in Weizen. The feeder service is tailored to the travel times of the museum railway and runs from Waldshut on the Hochrheinbahn to Weizen. Driving is the Wheat pendulum with diesel railcars of series 641 .

In 2008, the station building was renovated by the municipality of Lauchringen and Guggenmusik Ruinädängler for 443,000 euros.

On October 13, 2013, the 150th anniversary of the Hochrheinbahn was celebrated at Lauchringen station .

Since December 2013, a midday train has been running on school days in Baden-Württemberg from Waldshut via Lauchringen to Wutöschingen and back. This means there is regular passenger traffic on a short section all year round on school days. Since December 15, 2014, and thus exactly one year after the opening of school transport , this school train was extended to Eggingen on a municipal initiative , where there is a connection to a bus to Stühlingen .

Track systems

The Lauchringen train station still has quite extensive track systems. Today, however, there is only one platform track on the house platform (track 1) available for passenger traffic . The station still has a platform on track 2, but it cannot be used due to the lack of a transition to this platform. Since the Wutachtalbahn cannot be reached from platform 1, trains to and from Weizen only stop in Lauchringen West today .

In addition to the two platform tracks, the station also has four platform-less tracks, which are occasionally used by trains for parking.

Furnishing

The listed reception building of the Lauchringer train station, which is no longer accessible to passengers, is now used by local associations.

A large number of parking spaces are available free of charge. The bicycle parking space is not covered. Rental boxes for bicycles are available for commuters.
