The Regio Verkehrsverbund Lörrach ( RVL ) is a transport association in the Baden-Württemberg district of Lörrach . It is a so-called corporate association of local transport companies (in the legal form of a GmbH ), it consists of a total of eight different companies. Unlike the so-called mixed networks or PTA associations which are transport authorities of the local public transport (eg. As county, state) on RVL only indirectly by the politically dominated Board of RVL (involved on this board include the district administrator of the district, another representative of the District, 13 other local politicians, 4 representatives of the transport companies operating in the network area and one representative of the state transport ministry , but only with observer status).
The company was founded in 1995 to ensure a uniform public transport tariff there. The network area includes the district of Lörrach with 807 km² and 221,000 inhabitants. In 2012, the network transported 24 million passengers.
The area of the transport association borders on the countries of Switzerland ( tariff association Nordwestschweiz ) and France , as well as the transport associations RVF and WTV . There are transitional tariffs in all three neighboring transport associations , but there are no routes to France.
The RVL is also a participant in the KONUS program . KONUS stands for free use of local public transport for overnight Black Forest vacationers. With the Konus guest card, holidaymakers in the Black Forest can travel to their destination, the starting point for the hike or ski tour, etc. free of charge. This guest card is financed through a flat fee of 30 cents per night.
