The Verkehrsgemeinschaft Stauferkreis (VGS) was a collective bargaining agreement for all ten different bus operators in the Göppingen district . Omnibusverkehr Göppingen (which was also the largest transport company involved) was responsible for the lead and coordination . The Stauferkreis transport association was replaced by the Filsland mobility association on January 1, 2011 .

General

The Filstalbahn operated by Deutsche Bahn from Ebersbach via Göppingen to Geislingen (the only remaining railway line in the Göppingen district, on which regular passenger traffic still takes place today), however, was not integrated into the VGS - the VGS was therefore not a real transport association , but just a bus -Tariff group without integration of local rail transport . Since the OstalbMobil network tariff was introduced in the neighboring Ostalb district in 2007 , the district of Göppingen was the last area in Baden-Württemberg in which there was no real network tariff. However, with the so-called KombiTicket, there has also been a limited cooperation with the DB Regio in the district of Göppingen since April 1, 2004 (with KombiTicketPlus in addition to the DB Regio also with the VVS ), however, within the scope of these two offers, only single tickets, return tickets and annual tickets were available In addition, the sale of these KombiTickets or KombiTicketPlus was very limited, i. H. Tickets based on these two tariffs were only available through certain distribution channels. The Umsteige-Sparkarte offer, which existed before April 1, 2004, was integrated into the new KombiTicket or KombiTicketPlus offer , but was in some cases still marketed under the old name.

A complete integration of the district of Göppingen into the VVS failed several times in the past few years due to cost reasons. The district of Göppingen was still the only district that was part of the Stuttgart region , but was not also integrated into the VVS tariff at the same time.

Tariff zones

The 642.4 km² traffic area of ​​the VGS (congruent with the district of Göppingen) was divided into a total of 79 tariff zones (without the 13 tariff zones in the transition tariff areas to neighboring transport associations and without the 12 virtual counting zones in which there are no stops). As a rule, a tariff zone was congruent with the area of ​​a certain municipality or sub-municipality (sub-town), but in exceptional cases several municipalities or sub-municipalities were combined in one tariff zone. In addition, in exceptional cases, sub-communities (stops) are on tariff zone boundaries and were therefore assigned to two zones at the same time. The 79 tariff zones in the core area of ​​the VGS (average size 8.1 km²) are distributed as follows:

  • 77 regularly numbered tariff zones (zone number 40 was assigned twice)
  • 2 so-called core zones (Zone 10 = Göppingen urban area; Zone 01 = Geislingen urban area)
  • 2 tariff zones without numbering (zone "Bläsiberg" and zone "Aussiedlerhöfe")

The 13 additional tariff zones in the transitional tariff areas to neighboring transport associations were distributed as follows (within these zones the tariff of the respective neighboring association was used):

  • 10 zones in the OstalbMobil (zones 51, 61, 72, 73, 81, 83, 91, 92, 100 and 171)
  • 2 zones in the VVS (zone 61 = Kirchheim unter Teck; zone 71 = Weilheim / Teck)
  • 1 zone in the DING (zone 17 = Schalkstetten)

The 12 additional virtual counting zones were distributed as follows:

  • 2 counting zones between core zone 01 (= Geislingen) and zone 18 (= Türkheim)
  • 2 counting zones between zone 27 (= Eybach) and zone 16 (= Waldhausen)
  • 1 counting zone between core zone 01 (= Geislingen) and zone 203 (= Stötten)
  • 1 counting zone between core zone 01 (= Geislingen) and zone 5 (= Oberböhringen)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 7 (= hamlet) and zone 17 (= Schalkstetten)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 26 (= Wannenhof) and zone 43 (= Hohenstaufen)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 143 and zone 163 (= Adelberg)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 153 (= Nassach Unterhütt) and zone 173 (= Baiereck)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 46 (= Schlierbach) and zone 60 (= Kirchheim unter Teck)
  • 1 counting zone between zone 35 (= Uhingen) or zone 42 (= Ebersbach) and zone 153 (= Nassach Unterhütt)

Staufer map

A special feature of the VGS was the so-called StauferKarte . This was a transferable chip card that passengers could use to pay for their VGS single tickets (with the exception of the special tariffs such as the bus ring card , the weekend tariff and the mother-father-child combined tariff) from the bus driver and in return a 15 percent discount the regular zone tariff. The StauferKarte functioned as a prepaid card that was available free of charge from the bus driver, provided that at least 10 euros were loaded when the card was first received. Even after that, at least 10 euros had to be loaded onto the card for each subsequent booking.
