Rüdnitz is a former train station and today's stop in the Brandenburg municipality of Rüdnitz in the Barnim district . The place of business is located in the kilometer  28.162 of the main railway Berlin - Angermünde - Szczecin (Stettin train) and has two side platforms .

history

The plans for the construction of a train station in Rüdnitz go back to 1909, when the meat destruction and recycling facility started operations at Gut Albertshof in Berlin . For the delivery of animal carcasses one should siding of the Szczecin web of leave. For the construction of the required Royal Railway Directorate Szczecin from Berlin municipal authorities a grant in the amount of 90,000  marks and the free provision of land. The magistrate agreed to the project. In 1912 the station was opened as Rüdnitz (Kr Oberbarnim) , in addition to passenger traffic, unrestricted freight traffic was permitted with the exception of the transport of vehicles and live animals. The station had a total of nine tracks, of which the two continuous main tracks were equipped with two side platforms, and another track was intended for the overhaul of freight trains. Two mechanical signal boxes secured the entrances and exits and the level crossings at the station heads .

On August 15, 1941, to the south of the station and to the west of the main line at the level of the Ladeburg block , the Rüdnitz Vbf station, which was designed as an auxiliary marshalling yard, was opened ; With the installation of the marshalling yard , the Rüdnitz station was assigned to the Reichsbahndirektion Berlin . The reason for the construction was the relief of the Berlin marshalling yards, including the Pankow marshalling yard , which were increasingly overwhelmed as a result of the operating conditions created by the Second World War . The preferential treatment of military trains meant that the freight trains diverted via the Berlin Ringbahn often had to be overtaken, which, given the short overtaking tracks on the Ringbahn, led to congestion in the large marshalling yards. This in turn led to the discontinuation of operational operations so that the marshalling yards could not accept new trains. In order to defuse the situation, three auxiliary shunting yards in Rüdnitz, Fredersdorf and Großbeeren were built under the direction of the Reichsbahnbaudirektion Berlin .

Platform system (2018)

The entrance to the auxiliary shunting yard at kilometer 27.1 was connected to the exit in Rüdnitz in terms of signaling, i.e. the exit signals  B and C of the Rüdnitz station were also the entry signals for the auxiliary shunting yard. The exit was at kilometer 24.5. The approach group comprised five tracks, the directional group behind the drainage mountain comprised 16 tracks. However, there was no separate exit group to complete the trains that had been formed. For freight trains coming from Berlin, there was a single-track opposite entrance, which, coming from the south, passed the direction group and ended at the entry group. In addition to the Rüdnitzer command interlocking Rzb (Rüdnitz command signal box) two signal boxes were Rvo (Rüdnitz Vbf East) and RVW (Rüdnitz Vbf West) available at the entrance or exit. The switches at the level of the drainage hill and the locomotive treatment systems were probably set by hand . The ancillary facilities included six covered tracks for locomotive shelters, a triangular track for turning the tender locomotives instead of a turntable, and a coaling system. There was also a control and loading ramp with tracks on both sides and sidings for damaged wagons and pull-out tracks . With the advance of the front, the shunting operation ended at the latest in April 1945. The tracks of the approach and direction group were dismantled after the end of the war as reparations to the Soviet Union , but the locomotive treatment systems were retained and used by the Soviet Army .

With the dissolution of the Oberbarnim district in 1952, the station was given the tariff designation Rüdnitz . In 1951 and 1952 the operating site served as a parking space for locomotives from the disbanded locomotive columns  3 (Berlin-Pankow) and 11 (Frankfurt (Oder) Vbf / Transit). In 1954 the Rüdnitz station was assigned to the Greifswald Railway Directorate . The entry track from the direction of Rüdnitz was used from then until the 1980s to park damaged wagons from Raw Eberswalde . The connection was only removed during a superstructure renovation in 2001. In addition, the sidings to the former masking shop in Albertshof and an object of the former NVA existed until 2005 . After the platform renovation in 2004/05, the points were expanded from 2005 and the station was operationally converted into a stop on June 30, 2006. The conversion was connected with the conversion of the mechanical security technology to an electronic signal box .

Connection

Rüdnitz is served hourly by the regional train line  RB 24 ( Eberswalde Hbf  - Senftenberg ). The trains of the other local transport lines (RE 3, RB 60, RE 66) and long-distance trains do not stop in Rüdnitz.
