Barry went to the Catholic University of San Diego High School in San Diego, USDHS for short. He continued his academic career at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB). With the end of the 2006 season, his contract with the Oakland Athletics ran out. For the 2007 season it was sold to the San Francisco Giants and got a contract there for 126 mil. biography

Zito's interests include yoga, guitar and surfing. His personality makes him a media darling. For a while he was in the habit of buying baseball cards that he himself had signed earlier. When asked why he was doing this and not simply signing a card himself, he replied that it was then copied.

For every strikeout he throws, he donates US $ 100 to a foundation he established himself. This foundation is called Strikeouts for Troops and invests in hospitals for army troops. Other baseball players participate in this foundation, such as Manny Ramirez , Chipper Jones , Eric Chavez and many more.

In May 2020, Zito reached the fourth of a total of 18 places as Rhino in the third season of the US offshoot of The Masked Singer .
