Beat Brechbühl

Beat Brechbühl (born July 28, 1939 in Oppligen ) is a Swiss writer and publisher .

Life

Beat Brechbühl grew up in Niederwichtrach . He completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter in Bern . From 1960 he worked as a typesetter in Geneva ; At the same time he attended further training courses, for example on photography and typography . From 1961 to 1964 he was editor of the magazine clou 1964 to 1965 again typesetter in Berlin and Zurich . From 1966 to 1971 he was production manager at Diogenes Verlag in Zurich.

Since 1971 he has been working as a freelance writer and graphic artist , first in Wald, Canton Zurich . From 1978 to 1985 he headed the Zytglogge Verlag in Bern. In 1980 he founded the Waldgut Verlag , which has been based in Frauenfeld since 1987 ; In 1985 the metal typesetting and letterpress Atelier Bodoni was founded . Brechbühl lives in Frauenfeld.

Beat Brechbühl is the author of poetry , prose and children's books .

Beat Brechbühl is a member of the German-speaking Swiss PEN Center - of which he was President from 1993 to 1999 - and the Association of Authors of Switzerland .
