history

Beeckerheide, which used to belong to the parish of Beeck, was sparsely populated until long after the Second World War . The Beeckerwald residential area was created in the early 1970s and developed into the most populous residential area in the city of Wegberg. The residents founded an association, the "Wohngemeinschaft Beeckerwald eV", which sees its task in maintaining tradition and neighborhoods. Activities include building a club house in the early 1990s and in 2004 the inauguration of the “Christian Sign” at the corner of Kiefernweg and Tannenweg, where a Thanksgiving service takes place every October.

Infrastructure

In June 2011, 3,382 people lived in Beeckerheide. There are restaurants, small shops and some small businesses here. A bus and school bus stop provides connections to the schools as well as to the cities of Wegberg, Erkelenz and Mönchengladbach . A kindergarten is available for the children.
