Tetelrath is a district of the Mittelstadt Wegberg in the district of Heinsberg in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Tetelrath is located northwest of Wegberg on state road 126.

history

The place is located north of Merbeck and in earlier times belonged to the parish Niederkrüchten and until 1971 with Merbeck also to the civil parish of Niederkrüchten. Tetelrath has been part of the Merbeck parish since 1819. The local development extends along a dry channel that runs towards the Schwalm . In early documents the place is called "Tidelrode" (1116) and "Titelraid" (1563).

Infrastructure

In June 2011 327 people lived in Tetelrath. There are several farms that keep horses, a car workshop, an advertising agency and some small businesses. Bus and school bus stops provide connections to the schools as well as to the cities of Wegberg, Erkelenz and Mönchengladbach . There is a playground for children.
