history
The village of Berg was part of the Beeck parish in earlier times. Berg is very likely to be one of the places "berge", "richolferod" and "wazzarlar" (Wegberg-Berg, Rickelrath and Watern) mentioned for the first time in 966 in a certificate by Otto the Great. The chapel in Berg, located near the main road , a brick building with a small roof turret , is dedicated to St. Brigida, was consecrated in 1870 and used to be a pilgrimage chapel .
Infrastructure
In June 2011 there were 93 people living in Berg. In the industrial area to have leather-settled iron and plastic processing and eisenveredelnde businesses. But there is also a car dealership and small businesses. A bus and school bus stop provides connections to the schools as well as to the cities of Wegberg, Erkelenz and Mönchengladbach .
