The FK Dinamo Minsk ( Russian Динамо Минск ; Belarusian Дынама Мінск ) is a Belarusian football club from the capital Minsk . Alongside BATE Baryssau , it is the country's most successful football club.
history
Dinamo Minsk was founded in 1927 and played in the top Soviet league for the first time in 1945 . However, the association was dissolved in 1954. In the same year, however, he was re-established as Spartak Minsk and made third place in the first Soviet league. In 1959 the club was given a new name and was henceforth called Belarus Minsk , before it was given its current name in 1962. In 1963, the club, which was the only representative of Belarus ever to play in the Soviet league, came third again. It was not until 1982 that this position was surpassed, when the Soviet title was won for the only time. One point ahead of Dynamo Kiev was enough to win the title. With 33 seasons in the top Soviet league and the resulting 940 points, Dinamo Minsk occupies tenth place in the league's all-time table.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the subsequent independence of Belarus, the club began playing in the first Belarusian league as a founding member . Dinamo dominated the league for the first few years and was national champion from 1992 to 1995. In 1992 and 1994 they even managed to double. After only the runner-up title behind MPKZ Mazyr in 1996 , the club celebrated its sixth championship title a year later.
This was followed by a dry spell. In 1998 and 1999 Dinamo could only place in midfield when the club finished eighth and sixth respectively. In 2000 the team reached third place, which was followed by the runner-up. In 2002 the club only reached seventh place, but in 2003 they won the Cup with a 2-0 final against Lokomotiv Minsk, their first title in six years. In 2004 Dinamo became champions for the seventh time, in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 the club reached the runner-up in each case.
Dinamo-93 Minsk
The second team of Dinamo Minsk played between 1992 and 1998 also in the first Belarusian league, initially under the name Belarus Minsk and from 1993 under the name Dinamo-93 Minsk . In the 1993/94 season Dinamo-93 was runner-up behind the first team from Dinamo Minsk, another three seasons closed the reserve team in 3rd place. In addition, Dinamo-93 won the Belarusian Cup in 1995 and reached the Cup final one more time in 1997. In 1998 Dinamo-93 was excluded from the first division.
Dinamo-93 Minsk also played internationally. In the 1995/96 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 1996/97 UEFA Cup , they failed to qualify, and in the 1997 UEFA Intertoto Cup , the team finished second in Group 1 behind MSV Duisburg .

The club's home ground is the Dinamo Stadium . In 2012, the team competed at the Dinamo Yuni Stadium . From 2013 to 2018 she played in the Traktar Stadium .
