meaning

The protection is provided for the preservation of communities of wild animal and plant species. In particular, the biotopes near-natural still waters , alder quarry forests and beech forests as well as tall herbaceous corridors should be protected as a refuge for animals and plants. This is especially true for various amphibian and dragonfly species .

In addition, the still water, which was created through clay excavations, stands out due to its rarity and special character. The reed beds and the long-legged sedge ( Carex elongata ) are examples.

The area is largely owned by the Minden-Lübbecke district.
