The nature reserve Rauhe Horst - Schäferwiesen is located in the town of Lübbecke in the Minden-Lübbecke district . It is around 196.2  hectares and is listed under the designation MI-011.

It is located north of the Stockhausen district of the city of Lübbecke between federal highway 65 and the Mittelland Canal .

meaning

The protection is given because of the rarity and the special character of the area and for the preservation and restoration of communities as a refuge for threatened and endangered wild animal and plant species . In particular, the large, contiguous grassland area is to be protected, as it is of particular importance as a breeding, feeding, resting and wintering area for endangered bird species such as waders and meadow birds .

The reserve provides a stepping stone biotope in conjunction with other wetland protected areas . Especially the reedbeds , the orchards , the Hochstaudenfluren and willows can be obtained.
