Benny Benassi (born July 13, 1967 in Reggio nell'Emilia ; real name Marco Benassi ) is an Italian singer and DJ .

At the end of the 1980s he made a name for himself in several discos on the Adriatic Riviera. Then he moved to France, where he not only works as a recorder but also as a producer.

After changing the genre from Eurohouse to Electro , he achieved his worldwide breakthrough at the age of 35 with the track Satisfaction . The single and the following album Hypnotica reached high chart positions.

Together with his cousin All Benassi Benny Benassi also acts as Benassi Bros. in appearance. In 2004 the duo released a new CD under the name Pumphonia . The song Hit My Heart (feat. Dhany) was selected as the first single from this sampler . Numerous other albums and singles under the name Benassi Bros. followed.

Other pseudonyms under which Benassi produces include KMC and Bat 67 .

Benny Benassi is considered to be the inspiration for a new electro house scene . Typical of this special house style is a playback speed between the typical house and techno tempo (approx. 130 bpm ). In addition, have the songs usually have a hard (progressive) droning electro bass , are often also in contrast to the regular house electronic, techno-like vocal samplings integrated into this House versions.

Some of the most famous subsequent electro house DJs who wanted to build on the successes of the new genre include the Global Deejays , Royal Gigolos , Vinylshakerz , Dancefloor Saints & Shana Vanguarde . Well-known hits of the 1980s and 1990s are very often synthesized; Tech House remixes can also be found more and more frequently on the maxis of performers of other musical genres.
