Berge is a residential area in the Gennebreck district of the city of Sprockhövel in the Ennepe-Ruhr district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

Berge is located in the southwestern part of the Sprockhövel urban area on the L294 state road north of the Hackenberg ridge, right on the city limits to Hattingen in the north. To the southeast is the Kirchdorf Herzkamp , the largest settlement in the district.

Other neighboring towns are fields , Rather , Lehn , Ellerhäuschen , Mellbeck , Heege and Egen on Sprockhöveler and Pläzken , Kieker , Kühl , on the Kuhle and cooling Mark on Hattinger city. Due to its location on the watershed, a tributary of both the Deilbach and the Felderbach rises near the place .

history

Berge belonged to the rural community of Gennebreck within the new mayor's office Haßlinghausen (from 1844 Amt Haßlinghausen ) in the district of Hagen (from 1897 Schwelm district , from 1929 Ennepe-Ruhr district ). It appears on the Niemeyersche map , edition special map of the mining district of the Blankenstein district , from 1788/89 as a single house.

The place is recorded on the Prussian first recording from 1840 as Im Wolfsberge . From the Prussian new admission from 1892, the place is recorded on the TK25 measuring table as a mountain and in the editions from 1927 to 1988 with the addition Whs . ( Tavern ) provided.

The municipality and district statistics of the province of Westphalia listed the place as a single house with four inhabitants in 1871 . The municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia in 1885 gives a number of five inhabitants for mountains who lived in a residential building. In 1895 the place had three houses with 27 inhabitants and belonged to the Evangelical parish of Herzkamp. In 1905 the place had one house and three inhabitants.

On January 1, 1970, the Haßlinghausen office was dissolved and the rural community Gennebreck and Berge was incorporated into the town of Sprockhövel.
