Bernard Anthony Hebda (born September 3, 1959 in Pittsburgh , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis .

Life

Bernard Hebda was on April 6 in 1989 by the Archbishop of San Francisco , John R. Quinn , the deacon ordained. He received on 1 July 1989. by the bishop of Pittsburgh , Donald Wuerl , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 7, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Gaylord . The Archbishop of Detroit , Allen Vigneron , donated him episcopal ordination on December 1 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the President of the Pontifical Council for the Legal Texts , Archbishop Francesco Coccopalmerio , and the Bishop Emeritus of Gaylord, Patrick Ronald Cooney .

On September 24, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Newark . The inauguration took place on November 5 of the same year.

In connection with the resignation of Archbishop John Clayton Nienstedt , Pope Francis appointed him on June 15, 2015 in addition to the Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis . On March 24, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The inauguration took place on May 13 of the same year.

On December 17, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Consultor of the Congregation for Catholic Education .
